To conduct a robust evidence-based design process, a rigorous assessment of performances and conditions is required. SUPERSPACE has developed a series of digital analytics tools to quantify and visualize utilization pattern based on spatial qualities, user experience and operations planning. We interpret and generate the Big Data behind design options, scrutinize efficiencies, create interactive real-time visualizations of quantities to enable intuitive decision making and for effective communication with stakeholders.
Our data and spatial analytics support sector-specific metrics and bespoke analytics with new metrics for novel designs and innovative clients are developed. Data is either provided by clients, collected from open sources or generated by our proprietary spatial analytics.
We integrate data from mixed sources and of different qualities – spatial, social, environmental, operational, metadata – and correlate diverse data into holistic pattern. Where no data is available, we conduct field studies and observations to collect the required data sets to build the spatial, place and social profiles to create unique insights.
To understand complex spatial and social environments, it is not enough to simply analyse data, but to design site or user-specific interpretation models to make sense of data. SUPERSPACE is a leader in developing interpretations of spatial and user systems that reveal pattern and create unique insights from often opaque data sets.
In order to design people-centric architectures and masterplans, we have developed sophisticated computational models to interpret user perception and behaviours. The software applications quantify visual perception, legibility, spatial awareness, movement simulation, way-finding, communication and semantics, as well as enterprise management systems (EMS) and operations. The apps can be applied to all design domains where utilization, user experience and operations constitute core design objectives. Where user profiles are missing, we conduct the user segmentation studies to generate the profiles to simulate with. Simulated users for different sectors include citizens, employees, visitors, customers, passengers or clinical flows.
Working environments interface social and operational dynamics. Current workplace design strategies such as ABW or Agile aim to enhance this interface by allowing employees to interpret their workplaces efficiently and smartly, to match spatial conditions with required project or procedural requirements. SUPERSPACE has developed a software toolchain that quantifies the spatial and operational conditions to match organizational and procedural requirements across sequential phases of the workplace interiors workflow. The toolchain – including utilization analysis, floorplate analysis, test-fit generation, layout analytics and workgroup distribution – provides detailed metric insights for key performance indicators while also speeding up the assessment process.
Concepts of retail environments are rapidly changing and multiple concurrent approaches exists across the world, depending on density levels, climate conditions and technology uptake. SUPERSPACE has captured the diversity of retail environments from urban retail to airport concessions or vertical malls by decoding the spatial metrics of ‘shopping’. We service a bespoke retail analytics software to quantify the success of retail environments for customer experiences and spatial efficiencies. To de-risk a retail development we also conduct due diligence for urban sites and customer segmentations.
